This school needs a lot of assistance in professionalism and customer service skills. Staff and teachers are not concerned about about making this a "Great School". Staff and Instructors do not respond to phone calls or emails, unless you physically go to the school. You better pray they are available. This is the one disfunctional school that is in need of LEADERS. If the state was to close this location or any of the middle schools, I would not be surprised. Parents stay away, you would be better off home schooling if this is your neighboring school.
I went to this school last year and personally I feel it could be a lot better some teachers should pay more attention to their students grades than pass them just so they don't have to see them next year. Plus why are some teachers allowing these things to go on, girls fight in the bathroom same for boy people doing lude acts in the hallway like kissing in front of peers sexing in the bathroom this school needs to step it up I'm glad I don't go there anymore.
The school does to much we are supposed to be a middle school and we cant even walk in the hall way by ourselves we are suppose to be getting ready for highschool i dont know why we are treated like babies i love thhis school and the people in it and i feel we should be treated like young adults {high school students}.
This is a school with tons of potential but functions at the lowest possible denominator. The parent involvement in regular and ongoing school activities is non-existent. To be a success this school needs a complete administrative overhaul from top to bottom.
Dude, this school rocks!!!!!!! I was a student there some years back. Like 2 years ago and that school rocks!!! I loved all the teachers and the principal is great and if you ask, they'll answer and help. I totally recommend this school. =)
This is my daughter's first year here at Drew- Freeman, and i must say that she likes it and so do I. She is an Honor Student, and I am very proud of her. She likes her teachers. I will recommend this school to any parent because of there curriculum and the love they feel for their students.
I just graduated from drew. I don't reccommend you take your child to drew freeman. the kids have gotten worse. Some of the teachers can't even teach well. This is my own experince I liked very few things at Drew and I suggest you don't send your child here.
I was a student the 05-06 and 06-07 year Honor Student. The school is very nice they have great teachers. I was on the Morgan 7th grade team and the Banneker 8th grade team. The Banneker team was like a big family. At graduation the teacher and the student cried because we had got so attached. After I graduted from sixth grade I really didn't want to go to Drew since I heard all of the crazy rumors that were totally lies. But when I got there I didn't want to leave. So I would recommend parent and students don't be afraid to send/go to Drew because it is really nice and fun(for the students). Mr.Taylor(Algebra) is a good fun teacher. Mr.Long(U.S History) makes class interesting. Ms.Hall(Language Arts) a very nice lady that will teach you every word in the dictonary. Ms.Crawford(Science)will teach you everything about science.Drew Freeman is coming out.
I've been at Drew-Freeman for a few years teaching and it's amazing to see some of the comments posted by parents. Teachers can only do so much. We are more of a baby-sitting service for parents than an educational institution. We need parents to do their part and together, we would be able to accomplish a lot more.
My daughter was a three quater honor roll student at this school for the 06*07 school year.I believe that their is not one school that will not have a few problems. we have to remember that these are children and not adults. they are learning how to maintain as young adults.I only have an issue with staff wearing clothing that is toooo tight! what happened to professional dress attire? This school may not be number one but I have been pleased with all of her teachers. we as parents have to work together and work with the staff. This is a good school.
