There is no school at 1545 Progress Way in Eldersburg, MD anymore. The building is listed for sale by Merritt Properties. The school has declined in enrollment and had to relocate.

About this school

Average- to above-average students attend Friendship for proven, innovative, multi-sensory instruction based on the Orton-Gillingham approach. The school provides daily one-to-one tutoring and a comprehensive curriculum covering all core academic subjects as well as art, music, drama, physical education and computer literacy. A research-based Study Skills program, teaching students organization, time-management, and test-prep, is integrated into all academic subjects. Friendship's three-to-one student/teacher ratio means every child at the school is truly known and celebrated. Enrollment at Friendship will not exceed 100 students to preserve the school's philosophy of ensuring a nurturing social and academic environment. Students at Friendship know one another, and know they are valued members of the school community. Friendship's new, 20,000-square-foot facility was designed specifically to advance the school's mission of providing the highest level of individualized instruction for every student. With light-filled classrooms, a library, gymnasium and drama stage, the building provides a rich environment for learning and growing. On campus is Friendship School's teacher-training partner, the Margaret Byrd Rawson Institute, where time-tested teaching fundamentals are shared and teachers have continuous access to state-of-the-art professional development.
