I continue to be impressed with the staff and adminstration of EAW. They have completely exceeded my expectations. Not only do they care about the well-being of each and every student, they also care about the parents. The school is always asking for feeback on ways to improve and the 'open-door' policy throughout the staff makes EAW an approachable atmosphere. Whenever there has been a need to meet with a teacher, they were more than available and accepting of what I had to say. Any concerns that I have had have been delt with swiftly and with mychild's best interests in mind. All of this starts at the top with a good administration. The principal, Dr.Mary Stong is one of the most caring and selfless people I have ever met. She truly cares about each and every child and has devoted her life and career to them.

Part of being a parent is to be your childs advocate. My family just recently moved here but it doesn't take long to assess a school principal and it's teachers. They are not interested in the children or what the family has to say. And they think that it is ok to talk down to the parents when they have questions or concerns. Dr. Stong (AKA Principal) likes to gather people around her when she meets with a parent that has concerns. I'll call it her Posse. It's sole purpose is ment to intimidate parents. I think there is also discrimination of students with varying ethnicities amoung many teachers. And, if you are a parent that is educated and won't settle for the current runaround You are considered a 'problem' parent and your child gets labeled as well. Get rid of Principal Stong it will be a positive first step.
