My child starting atending Phyllis E. Williams in October. I'm very happy with the school except for the distance my child has to walk. The conditions today, I don't care there should be a bus for kids in elementry

My child is beginning her second year at Phyllis E. Williams. Despite the fact that it is a school in need of improvement, I have been impressed by certain aspects of the school. The leadership, particularly the Principal and Vice Principal, is very visible and involved. That kind of top-down leadership is hard to find. My daughter's Kindergarten teach was very accessible, encouraging and in touch with the children. The school is on the path to improvement, but they need to become more organized and communicative in regards to programs taking place at the school. For example, proper notice should be given when there is a field trip and the graduation ceremony should be well-publicized so that parents don't have to take unexpected leave to attend. Also, there were a couple of occasions in which my daughter's monthly homework packet was very late or she didn't receive it at all.

This is my child first year at Phyllis E. Williams and she really likes it. During the second week of school, I was able to witness the children morning routine as far as getting to their classed. I was very impressed to see how all the kids lined up in a single file line and walked to their individual class with out making a sound.. The teachers and patrols line up in the halls to make sure that the kids move to their classes in an orderly fashion. My daughter is excited about school every time she comes home. She has a lot to tell me. I thing this reflect the way her teacher interacts with here. I was contemplating on putting my daughter in private show, but so far she and I are enjoying this first year at PEW. She really like her Before/After Care at PEW.

I as an envolved parent, I was truly dissapointed in Phyllis E. Williams. My daughter never came home with homework relative to the class lesson plans. The teacher appeared to be more concerned with her looks than my childs education. The end of the year school function was poorly planned and it was truly sad because the kids had so much talent. I now understand why this is a school in need. The discipline policy needs to ge enforced. When you go to pick up your child, there are kids everywhere. Again no organization!

We have two kids in this school. This is a well organised school. The Principal is very involved with the students and most of the teachers are excellent. The special education teacher is also very helpful and willing to work with parents. The aftercare program is equally good but could do with better structure.
