In Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), students attend the school in their neighborhood attendance area. Students may also attend charter schools. The district is in the process of consolidating under-enrolled schools and creating “new and more schools of choice,” beginning with the 2009-2010 school year.
Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as "in need of improvement" have the right to attend a higher-performing school in the district.
