I am not satisfied with this school. My children loved, I repeat loved going to school until a couple of weeks into the school year they started at Dr. Mudd. They do not make it a friendly environment to learn. Some of the teachers as well as the office personnel do not have a very welcoming attitude towards the parents. I have also had great experience with some of the teachers but there are several school employees that treat you like you are beneath them, get annoyed when you ask a question or suggest something. If I had a choice, another option I would transfer my children.
My daughter started in pre-k we had to keep asking to get her help with here speech. once they got her help it was great. She is also having problems with reading and math we keep asking for help but we are not getting any they gave her 1/2 a quater in 1st grade right before school got out, it helped but not enough.
My child started at Dr. Mudd for Pre-K just for half of the day. The amount of learning and enrichment she received in two and 1/2 hours was amazing. She walked away from pre-school know the sign lanquage alpahbet from A-Z and a host of other enrichment tools that 4-5 year olds may not receive. They are wonderful and really care about the children.
My son and I love this School and the administrators. They are very caring and looks out for my son personally.
I have two children which attend Dr. Samuel Mudd Elementary School. They both show a great interest in the school. They are given homework assignments every night (except Friday) and are encouraged to do plenty of reading. Bottom line....I believe this school is very organized and they take pride in their academic programs.
My child is in kindergarten at Dr. Mudd and she has learned a lot since the school year has started. She did attend Pre-K and they were very helpful in helping her with her transition to K. The teachers are very intelligent and friendly. The parent involvement is also outstanding because they alert you of all activities that will be held, and invites you with open arms.
You know we have gotten so far away from the 'old school' way of teaching. 'Old school-meaning the teachers really caring about the students. I have to say, the staff at Dr. Mudd really do care about the kids. I have two kids attending Dr. Mudd. They love the school and each year fall absolutely in love with their teachers but at the same time, they learn alot and it shows. My husband and I can see the progression in each of our children. Soon, my third child will attend as well and we are looking forward to it. There are lots of activities&workshops at the school to keep you plugged in as a parent. Pay attention to the literature that comes home in the kids bookbags and most of all TALK TO YOUR KIDS. Dr. Mudd, just keep up the good work!
My daughter has attended Dr. Mudd for three years. At first, I wasnt satisfied with the quality of the education, however it has inproved tremedously over the past year.
I have two children at this school and have been extremely pleased with nearly all aspects of the school, the education it provides and the staff. The education is personalized enough to reach each child on their specific level. The parents are encouraged to be as involved as possible. If any parent does not feel involved with the teachers and other staff at this school, then, in my opinion, they did not pursue that element in their child's education. We have been very pleased with the environment provided to our children while attending Dr. Mudd. I was very skeptical at first, coming from a private school background. But I was impressed in spite of myself. M.R.
