As a military family it is not uncommon to end up moving mid-school year as with the case this year we moved here mid year. We were not given any guidance as to school policy, protocol, and were not shown around the school. Our sons teacher has been a horrible experience for my family. No communication at all, takes weeks to hear back from anyone except the schools counselor who was wonderful and tried to help us as best he could. My child was kicked in the face and I was not notified by the school until 9 days later! This is unacceptable, the staff is not trained on how to deal with the needs of military children. Along with behavior expectation that far surpass normal or even advanced standards, my son was constantly in trouble for doing things kids do. We will be transferring him out of this school.

We are a miltary family and transisiton end mid year. Both is and my in laws find the office staff were rude and distant and uncaring. She had to learn a new style of schooling as it was so different from old school. They are caught up on age though she is meeting standards for her grade. They have no real issues. My child has been bullied and hit, with no real care from the school. I regret buying here as the school is not to par with what you would expect by these reviews on here. This school and even school district discourages parent involvement.

This school is great! My son has attended Wade since pre-k, he is now in 2nd grade and is reading at a 3rd grade level! Wade teaches the children much differently than any other school in the county which promotes kids to excell in academics in the long run, which is why some parents that transfer their kids find it difficult for their kids to transittion. It is a much different teaching/learing method. I run a daycare and every child that has attended Wade is above grade level reading and math.

I recently moved to Prince William County, and the one thing that both my 9 year old and I miss about Charles County is Wade Elementary. Teachers, office staff and administration were awesome in helping my son be successful at Wade. Thank you Ms. Bliss, Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Coffey and many others who were instrumental in making sure that my son was on track at all times.

Wade Elementary has been a blessing to me and my children. I relocated here from PG County area in 1999. The last of my three children will be Graduating this June (2011), and Wade has prepared them all for their future educational needs. Since leaving Wade my Son has been an Honor Roll student all three years at Davis Middle School and excels in every task presented to him. Each Morning Mrs. D (Principle) voice comes over the school s sound system as every student recites the Pledge of Allegiance then the Pledge of Respect (I am a smart and valuable person I respect myself and I respect others. My words and my actions are Kind. I am proud to be Me); and I am a Proud Parent to have three children attend this Great School. Keep up the Great Work!!!!!

This is a best school. The teachers are excellent and really care about the students. The academic program is excellent and really challenges. The school offers accelerated math classes for gifted students where students do work a grade level above. I highly recommend this school for every one.

Awesome school! My son has been at Wade since 1st grade and will be attending Middle School next year. The teachers care and want every child to excel.

This school is academically superior than others in the community. However, we are military and this school was a difficult transition for the kids. There wasn't enough help to get the children caught up with their peers. The student teacher ratio is high- 28:1 for both my 1st and 2nd grader. There isn't bus service. There seemed to be a problem with violence, theft, and bullying. This was especially a problem on the walk home. When talking to parents that have been here for several years the general consensus is that it is not the school or community this used to be.

Coming from a military family point of view, this school lacks in understanding and ability to help new students adjust. We also encountered unfriendly office staff which prompted us to change schools.

I think William B. Wade is the best school ever because they care about everyone there and the principal is that made every inch of that school a special place and every person and the teachers are the best thhey work hard for MSA and they are the best they care more than any other teacher in the whole entire country. So as you see I love this school I never want to leave it.

My 3 children go to Wade and I have only good things to say about the teachers. They take teaching seriously and care for their students. I have never seen a more involved or caring principal. She is top notch. One of my sons was being bullied and made fun of and the school counselor took care of it immediately and followed up to make sure there was no other problem. Excellent.

My child has attended Wade for four years. It has been a wonderful experience for all of us. All of his teachers have been the best. There is a system in place for behavior and rewards for being an I-Care Kid. Each teacher has their own way of doing things, but all do it well. If there is ever an issue, Mrs. DiSabatino is there. Wade is a great school. We have the best of everything.

Wade is an awesome school with a caring staff of teachers and administrators. Anytime my children have needed extra assistance in math or reading the teachers have always offered materials or extra assistance to tend to the problem or difficulty. The principal, Mrs. DiSabatino, is very involved with the parents and children. They have a great number of volunteers who come and do work for the teachers which relieves some of their stress and gives them more time to tend to the children. The school has high expectations for the children both academically and behaviorally. Classroom student size can be very high at times (25-30 kids) but that is just the nature of the growing community. It would be nice if they could acquire more space in order to expand the school and parking lot. They have one of the highest MSA scores in the county if not the highest.

I am a grandmother of six. I have four grandsons who attend Wade Elementary school, and without a doubt Wade is the best school in the county at this time! The teachers and office staff know every student by name and treat every one with the respect. I have volunteered at the school in the past year and see how great this school is. I have seen with my own eyes how caring the staff is. What other school does the principal know every student by name (more than 400 students). If anyone has had a bad experience at Wade the only thing I could think of is that that person must have had a bad day and went in with a bad attitude themselves.

My daughter has attended Wade since Kindergarten and she's had a wonderful experience. I am very impressed with the fact that when I go to the school to pick her up for any reason the office staff knows my name and the name of the child I'm picking up without asking. What I also like is that even outside of school if I see any of the staff there acknowledge me and my child. My son will be strting school there in the fall and I am sure he will have the same positive experience as my daughter has.

We enrolled our son after moving here and from day one, we were not impressed. We're a military family and our son, a 5th grader, has attended 3 different public schools in as many states. All have been wonderful, positive experiences, until here. We can say with confidence this school, his 4th, is by far the worst our son has attended. The academics are up to par, but the atmosphere in the school leaves alot to be desired. With such a high military population in the area, this school should have no problem helping the new kids adjust to the academic requirements specific to MD. The office staff was rude on more than on occasion. After the 1st four months of the 06-07 school year we pulled our son out and are happily homeschooling where he is learning in a fun, safe environment.

Overall this school is excellent. They set high standards for the kids and have a high level of parent involvement. The school came through with developing and deploying an Individual Education Plan. The school usually does extremely well on the Maryland State Assessment tests, relative to other Maryland schools. The principal and staff are highly professional and easy to work with.
