I went to this school for two years the teachers are ok, since thare isnt a huge selection of them it is usually a horribul teacher or a great teacher. The school has two classrooms per grade, has no gym, the art room turning into a 3rd grade room overall a good school
Center School is definately a small school, only 2 classrooms per grades 3,4,5, and 6. So you only have a 'choice' of two teachers per grade. I have dealt extensively with the school as my child receives Special Education services from the school. I thought that with the hype of the Abington Public Schools education being so high from different sources, that they would have the ability to deal with almost any challenge. I have experienced difficulty getting the services my child needs to succeed and feel that the school is inadequate as far as space to provide a proper classroom for special ed students. The cafeteria has to double as the gym. It is a great little neighborhood school, but sturggles with the space crunch to fit everything they need and the students that need to be taught in the same space.
It is a well structured school with a great maintenance person, you rock mr.Lumbardie!
Center school in abington is a great educating fosility. :)
My son is in the third grade and is struggling with Math and English. He does not get the extra help he needs at school. I feel he is not getting the education that he needs to succeed in life. He does not qualify for the IEP class. I feel that there should be more one on one help with students like him.
Center school is a small very old school (depression era). It has a old school neighborhood feel. The teachers vary from good to terrible depending on what grade level you look at. You take a chance because you don't have a lot of choices if you get stuck with a bad teacher
