It used to be great then when Dr. Kirk came everything changed. She was rude and biased. All of my friends left just like me because she came. My new school Edith C Baker is wayyy better.

Handles bullying effectively: Strongly agree

The staff has been trained in a specialized program to correctly identify and work with youngsters who exhibit bullying behaviors at all levels.

The school employs a special education teacher and an Orton Gillingham reading specialist.

Develops character: Strongly agree

Children are respectful and very accepting of all race and religions.

Amount of homework: Disagree

Some teachers do it others don't. It doesn't seem to be a unifed plan on how to teach kids continuously on the subject of homework.

This school is not what it's promising. As said in other reviews the principle, Theresa Kirk is a bully and dictator. Ideas of parents, concerns or even critical comments are played down, ignored or answered with statements like "feel free to find another school". Several parents are unhappy and concerend. Teachers seem afraid to speak up, cause multiple were fired after raising their voices. MONEY is the administrations first priority!! Fundraising never seems to end. The small classes they advertise are now in 2nd Grade 22 students strong with only one teacher (not much 1 on 1 time there). Almost every month there is a a Prof. Development day were there is no school at all. Which brings the school days per year down to 169 instead of by law required 180. If you can find a good public school, go for it or pay just a little more for a different great privat school.

Outstanding Catholic School. Excellent teachers; superb administration. Students do well with acceptance rate to exam schools after Grade 8. Highly recommend this wonderful, student centered school.

My daughter has had nothing short of a superlative experience at St. Mary's. The curriculum is strong, the teachers are loving and there is excellent communication between the school and the parents. Overall St. Mary's is a diverse, inclusive, supportive and welcoming community, of which I feel privileged to be a part.

This use to be a great school, and it is still a good school, but not what it once was. Excellent value for the money, and the small classes are nice. There has been a lot of turnover of teachers and families since the new principal took charge 2 years ago. We are still holding on and hoping the ship will get righted. Parents are a bit boxed out of school decisions and there could be a stronger sense of community. But still a school worth visiting and considering.

Develops character: Strongly agree

St. Mary's is a catholic school with a focus on values and treating others with respect. It's important to me to have this as part of my child's education.
