This is an amazing school. Outstanding faculty, great students and families. The students perform very well in national achievement tests and get into some great high schools (and colleges in the future).
The St. Peter School and its associated parish and community deserve the best rating. My only regret is that we couldn't have spent more time there. Everyone, including the Principal, the Pastor, the Teachers and the Families made our experience one we will never forget. The academics are tough, the extra-curricular activities are amazing and the religious education is fantastic. I highly recommend the school to everyone, even those families who may be spending just a year or two in Cambridge. We were a military family attending Harvard and the time spent in Cambridge with the support of St. Peters was the best we've had in 16 years of service.
A Catholic School with the expected 5 star academic program with an amazing art program which includes a major theater production each spring. The 4th-8th graders are encouraged to participate not only as actors or in the chorus, but working back stage, helping with set design, props and operating the spot light to name a few! This is a close-nit community and we are very happy to be a part of it.
I have been at Saint Peter School for 28 years. First as a parent of 3 who attended from Kindergarten thru 8th grade. and now I am Director of Advancement. My grandson now attends. Saint Peter School has been a beacon for many a child over the years. The education is the best and the curriculum teaches to the mind, heart and soul of each child. If I was starting out looking for schools, Saint Peter School would be my #1 Choice.
St. Peter School is a small tight-knit school where there is only one classroom per grade and a lot of parental involvement. My children have attended for two years (Pre-K and K) and we are happy so far with the academic program. I am not a practicing Catholic (not all the families are), but I do like the emphasis that the school places on community service. After all, how you treat other people is as important a lesson as learning reading and math. The school is diverse in an international sort of way (Parents come from Catholic countries all over the world, i.e. Brazil, France.) as well as a blue-collar/white collar way. If you are unhappy with the disorder in the public school system and cannot afford the pricey private schools in Cambridge, this is a viable alternative.
