I agree with the earlier statement, the (now not so) new director is to blame. The new Osgood principal is horrible. He sorely lacks integrity and leadership skills. Yes, we are all aware of his ineptitude. He may have been a fine adjustment counselor, but does not have the skills needed/required to handle the job of principal.
My rating speaks volumes, other parents know why. Children need services not offered. Principle and teachers protect each other.
This school is a nurturing, caring learning community with dedicated teachers. The curriculum is top notch and the teachers are masterful at meeting a wide variety of learners. What a wonderful place to be!
Not at all pleased with the new Director of Curriculum & Professional Development. So much change at the helm; hiring significantly lesser quality individuals. One principal actually walked out this year at the end of the year. Expect to see this school system get downgraded dramatically after the last few years of upswing. Also, Osgood School's lunchroom activity aide is rude, rough and disrespectful towards the children and parents. She is clearly challenged in her environment and doesn't understand her tactics are crude. Glad we are out of the school system this next year.
It is a safe and wonderful place to learn with caring teachers and staff .
Osgood is a community of learning at its best. Its faculty and staff are relentless at teaching children the human values of honesty, integrity and the habits of an intellectual life -- no small feat for a curriculum of K-2!
This is a good school, but there is a lot of pressure put on the students and parents. I would like to see the administration back off and allow the students to just be children. The students' academic success comes at a high price.
they did good this year. my child is a A student so as long as she stays a A, i'm happy.
I attended the Joseph Osgood School and I had a wonderful experience. Now I have my own children going to school there, and I could not be happier. It is better than any private school in the area. The teachers are wonderful- all masters level and have passed the teachers examination in all academic areas- unlike private schools. The children have structure and are learning to be good people, unlike what I found at Inly school. Parents are included. I feel like I am getting a high-quality private school at a public school price. Amazing!
