This is the school I went to. Most kids know it as the school without walls and think our school was poor. The lack of walls though created a greater sense of family than other elementary schools who were separated by walls. Our principals were great and cared for each student and took the time to know each student. We were always prepared for MCAS each year for the 6 years I was there. Now my little brother goes there despite how many of my teachers retired everything is pretty much the same. The same sense of family and teachers to whip these kids into shape.
Not the same school it was a few years ago when my first child went. To MCAS focused, teachers are stressed, principal seems to be very controlling and the new report card are terrible.
I have two children at Smith and am very impressed with the dedication of Mrs. Burrill and the whole staff. Every teacher, aide and staff member are top notch. My children love going there and are excited about learning!
The warm loving atmosphere and the dedication of their teachers.
The people in the school treat everyone like family. It also has a great playground dedicated to the memory of one of its students.
Terrific school with dedicated teachers and great esprit de corps.
Great teachers, Wonderful Community, Super results.
We've got the best Faculty, Staff and Parents anywhere. The communication between parents and the teachers and administrators is top notch. We are lucky to have our children attend Smith School.
teachers, administrators and parents who care, all working together
They do a wonderful job of empowering children to succeed in whatever they choose and encourage community service.
