This was a difficult decision for us as we are both public school parents. But I can say it was the the most remarkable school for our son. He was a day boy and it truly chnaged his life for the better. He went on to a private high school but several of his freinds did not. All did well where thay landed and all will be attending outstanding colleges this fall. I have heard of a few kids who don't feel they fit in but the school is really on top of any nonsense and will immediately put a stop to it. Eaglebrook was truly the best experience of his life and he made friends for life. go if you can, you will never find a more caring, rigorous and loving school.

This was where I spent the finest 4 years of my childhood. At first, the most glaring characteristic is the single gener environment. However, being only middle-schoolers, the students quickly got over it, and the benefits of not being exposed to boy-girl drama at that age, I think really benefited many students. The teachers (for the most part) were first class. I still keep in touch with a few of mine. Mr. Friedman was the best English teacher I've ever had, and despite his reccent passing, he's the reason I enjoy writing so much today. I was a day student at EBS, so I can't truly speak to the boarding school experience. However, along with EBS, I attended 2 other boarding schools, so I'm not completely in the dark. I spent many nights on campus, and I must say, while it is nice to see your parents and sleep in your own bed, the school does a superb job fostering a sense of community and making these (relatively young) students feel comfortable.

Eaglebrook School was single handedly the greatest choice we have ever made for our son. He is currently a 9th grader...couldn't wait to go back to school this year! He is surrounded by nurturing, compassionate, and intellectual staff who work daily to bring out the very best in our son. We only wish he could stay there until he graduates high school. Don't miss out! Check out all the EBS has to offer. You wont be disappointed!

Two of my three sons attended Eaglebrook. With the older one graduating this year I can say we could not be happier. This is a very high touch model with very dedicated and committed teachers are are 'best in class'. You would be foolish not to send your kids to Eaglebrook where they can realize their full potential. The Headmaster and his wife Rachel are very caring. The teachers set good examples and there is a sports program for everyone. Together with compelling academics there is no place like Eaglebrook. International students learn English in less than 3 years! Placement is excellent.

We knew that Eaglebrook would be great for our son, but it was way beyond 'great.' It is a family environment where they really work wonders-- developing academic skills, intellectual curiosity, and self-confidence. Our son loved Eaglebrook, and we're eternally grateful.

Eaglebrook's strength is the stability provided by three generations of the same family as headmasters and its uplifting culture. This culture results in each student working to lift each other up. Walking across Campus you will be greeted by everyone you encounter and feel a kinship spirit here. Don't be fooled there are diehard athletes here a hockey rink, a pool with water polo and swimming, competitive downhill skiing for 6th graders, lacrosse, soccer you name it! Known as Master Educators in the NY metro area by parents who have sent their children there. You will be amazed!

Eaglebrook is probally the best Pre-Prep School in this country. Boasting a diverse community, a stong core curriculum, and some of the best teachers in the buisness, eaglebrook gives a good definition to the term 'all-Guys School'. Eaglebrook is a very close and caring communtity, and as a student, I never truly felt alone and friendless in the commuinity. Top Notch in every category, and always supportive to everyone. Parents, This is a great school and I have yet to meet anyone who truly Hated Eaglebrook. At a Prep School now, I have to say, the bonds you make at eaglebrook are bonds that you will have for your entire life.

Eaglebrook is such a great school for young children. Outstanding facilities among junior boarding schools, excellent teachers in a warm and caring environment provide boys with best education. Academic, sports, music and arts; all courses are top quality. Long history of rivarly with Cardigan Mountain School, smaller version of Harvard and Yale. Boys grow with high pride of Eaglebrook. My son has grown and become a great young man, physically, intellectually in every aspects. If you consider sending your son to a junior boarding school, Eaglebrook is the place for your son's bright future.

This school is one in a million. Its low student to staff ratio makes Eaglebrook school a great place to receive 1 on 1 attention. The sports programs are the best in the pre-secondary level, easily beating most of the pre-secondary schools. The new dorms are spacious and rival most of the major secondary schools. The arts programs are great usually consisting of 10 kids or less to a classroom. The parent involvement is not as strong as a day school, but very good for a boarding school for telephones, email, and IM are easily available. Parents are allowed to take there kids on a weekend to view the beautiful new England country side. The best perk of all is the the private ski mountain snow making equipment and its own private chair lift make winter sports a blast.

My three years as a student at Eaglebrook was the best experience of my life. My peers and I were always proud to wear the red and blue. I never heard a negative thing about the school. The students and faculty were always enthusiastic to play their role in the circulation of knowledge.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
