This school is a marvelous gift, to the students, their parents, and the greater community. It provides a caring and supportive environment where students can learn and develop valuable life skills. The administration and the faculty are highly qualified and very deeply committed to the success of each student. Codman Academy Charter School is what every school should be. We are blessed that our son is able to study here. Wonderful!!!

I am an alumni from the Class of 2009 and had the pleasure to be at Codman Academy for four years. The opportunities that you encounter at the school are unbelievable. I had the chance to go to South Africa for two weeks and enjoy the beauties of Cape Town, Johannesburg and East London. Besides getting wonderful opportunities the teachers at the school are always there for you. I wasn't that great in math but the teacher I had help make it possible for me to understand what was going on. The teacher stayed later than school hours to help not just myself but others. It is not only just this teacher that is dedicated to helping the students but it is every staff there. The school has a family knit bond and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Lessons are frequently poorly planned. Discipline is uneven.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Massachusetts used the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 10 in English language arts and math and in grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The grade 10 MCAS is a high school graduation requirement. The MCAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Massachusetts.
