Montachusett Regional Vocational Tech

Monty tech has many issues in my opinion. First off, the academic programs are sub-par at best with little to no variety in options for students. The vocational programs are OK but still could use improvement. My biggest issue is with the way the school is run. Students have zero amount of freedom. It is extremely easy to break a rule without trying to because there are so many. Parents are also no longer allowed to dismiss their children from the school without the student getting demerits, which add up very quickly and result in suspensions. There also seems to be issues with the budget. The school has no art or music programs but somehow manage to hire new unnecessary "guidance counselors". They also find the money to build new offices but then raise the price for lunches with no nutritional value or taste. I should also add that vocational high schools are becoming increasing impractical. Most students will still need to attend college to make a good living and as you probably know, vocational schools are supposed to be an alternative to that route. If you have the option, do not have your kids attend this school.

I am a graphic major and I love the teachers and staff they are excellent. The student body as a whole is amazing. I love learning things at this school

Monty Tech set me on the path to success in my field of information technology. Having a concentrated exposure at an early age provided me with significant advantage in my career. The school s staff and administrators cared deeply about the development of each student that came through their programs. The academic programs are as vigorous as the technical and vocational programs. There is no better way to receive as diverse an education as provided by Monty Tech.
