HES is a Pre-K through grade 4 building. If you are a positive supportive involved parent the staff are warm and receptive and your experience will be a positive one. The results of any program/placement are influenced by what you as a parent contribute. The HES is a warm, friendly, small community school. The school philosophy supports respect and celebrates differences. The teachers are well educated, child centered and focused on achievement for all!

Good school for learning, however I'm not impressed with the attitudes of the teachers/staff. I feel as though they need to work on their people skills!

I have a daughter entering her final year at HES. Overall, I have been very pleased with the quality of education my daughter receives. Despite years of renovation of the building, and having to disregard noise and construction, displacement and clutter, the staff were steadfast in giving the children a warm, supportive atmosphere where they are encouraged to ask questions, reach beyond the classroon studies and take part in enrichment programs and activities. I am delighted with the new Superintendent. She will guide the entire school system away from the Good ol Boy network it became, and to a high quality education system that strives to see our children succeed.
