Like most places, some of the staff are engaging and others not so much. Students in this environment also serve as their own "teachers."

Some of the classes offered give some homework. There's no penalty if it's not done, however, usually my daughter wants to do it in order to stay up with the class discussions.

The students at Lighthouse are responsible for their learning and for their environment. They have meetings weekly to discuss issues as a community.

My daughter was miserable in the public schools. Getting her out of the house every day was a challenge. While she was an A-student, she was stressed out and learning to hate learning. It was painful to watch. Lighthouse is currently providing... more
