Actually, MME is now know as Barnstable Community Horace Mann Charter Public School. The staff, and the parents, work hard to make our school one of the best in our district.

I enrolled both of my children from private school to MMEHMCPS. It has been the best educational decision for both children. The accelerated schools model has really met the needs of my children. They are both totally engaged in the school and their learning. Parents are very involved and the offerings are amazing. The enrichment clusters really excite the children and they really look forward to going to school. I am sad that next year the fourth grade will be leaving for the BHMCS. It will be hard to see one of my children have to go so soon.

Our son has been in HMCS for three months now and has been more than inspired by a truly great fifth grade teacher. This is a wonderful school.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Massachusetts used the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 10 in English language arts and math and in grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The grade 10 MCAS is a high school graduation requirement. The MCAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Massachusetts. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
