As a parent, I am very fortunate for having my child attend such prestigious educational facility. My child is receiving state of the art education at no cost. The statistical educational improvements are the results of the hard work, dedication, collaboration, and partnership of administration, teachers, parents, and community. Hats off to all of the Lawrence Family Development Charter School personnel.
Unfortunately, unlike its counterpart in Lawerence (Community Day) the same glowing review cannot be given of Family Dev. Charter School. Look at the Mass. Dept. of Ed. site view report from Nov. 2004. (mass.gov/doe - search under Charter Schools) There is a severe lack of organization & communication within/between the administration/faculty & parents/students. Sadly, some families are under the impression that their children are receiving a private school quality education for free! But it performs at or below the public schools in most areas. The school has a high turnover rate for employees, admitted by the Head of School. The reason given was because of the higher demand of paper work. Must be more than that! The only good things I can say is that we were fortunate to be blessed with a great teacher & the afterschool program is convenient. The school school needs a lot of change/improvements.
