It's my first year and I'm impressed with the school, teachers and all it has to offer. I love Malden High School!!
Parents, You are so fortunate to have the quality of educators that Malden High School offers. They are dedicated and extremely involved in your childrens education. They exceed qualifiacations found in many surrounding systems. Malden has given their schools a great deal of support and our kids are benefiting from everything from sports to music without hurting the parental budget. Today, with all the tightening of budgets, we are fortunate to have the support of the school board and a principal and staff that give their time, expertise and dedication on a daily basis to everyone of our kids. We are all lucky and should take time to thank them.
Great School! There is no need for any student at Malden High to feel left out of activities, there is virtually something for everyone, athletics, clubs, band, chorus, so many extracurriculars that there is no excuse for a bored teen! Your child will find their niche, and they'll find friends. My child who attended went on to be accecpted to many schools that had low acceptance rates. My other child is currently a Malden High student, and is doing better than ever, involved in many activities that's are being enjoyed immensely... House principal, Mr. Mahoney is wonderful, and really cares about his students, going above and beyond when needed. School principal, Dana Brown is doing a great job, is involved and is an integral part of the school community. It's no wonder we've gotten rave reviews
MHS has its issues as any other school. Despite the ridiculous 7:45am start, they aren't doing a horrible job. Performing as a School administrator is a much different job today, more than ever before. For the most part, the teachers do the best they can with what they are given to work with. They do however at times need to develop thicker skin and accept criticism when it is directed at them, instead of making excuses. The Principal, Mr. Brown is very involved both in and out of the school. He has somewhat of a chip on his shoulder at times, but he has earned that right I guess, with all he has to deal with on a daily basis. Overall the school does an adequate job, but there certainly is room for improvement.
Malden High is a great school. I go there now and I am happy to be there. The teachers are great and you can really create a special bond with them. The academics are amazing and the guidance counselors try their best to give you exactly what they ask for, for classes. The athletics are great too. We have many dedicated athletes also. This is just an overall amazing school. The teachers make sure they are on track and get their job while still taking time to make the class fun. I am proud to say I will be a Malden High Alumni.
2 Gates Scholars, 9 Posse 4 year full scholarships, seniors going to MIT, BC, Tufts and other great school, they seem to be doing something right. No other school in the area (public, private, Catholic, or charter) compares to what the MHS staff does for its students. MCAS scores need to improve, but motivated students can do no better than MHS.
I wish for those who are reading these reviews to please don't listen to the negatives. The Malden High School is a quality school with a highly unique and diverse student body. We have an huge quanity of clubs, sports, and many other programs with high participation of students. Most of the teachers are very motivated, experienced, and knowledgeble about and around their field of expertise.
I sent a son to Malden Catholic for 2 years before I came to my senses and sent him to Malden High. It couldn't have been a better move. Malden high has a larger curriculum! The school has a diverse population which our American workforce is going to have to learn to work with and for! Malkden Catholic was 99 % white. Prejudice people who have no idea what goes on in the cooridors think childern are un safe. Both of my children have never had a single incident of violence or misappropriate behavior. Malden high school puts more student into the higher echelon of education than MC. Students got scholarships to MIT and Harvard last year from Malden, not MC!
Please disregard the comments before mine because i am a student in malden high school. And i must say that the way the school is depends solely on what and how the student is and do. People always have bad comments about mhs and i'm so sick of it.I know i'm writing my comment at the wrong place but i know if i write it somewhere else no one would read it. Mhs is diverse there's not really a minority. We are all together in this, it all depends if you can get higher or not. There are people in malden high that is doing a lot better job because we care about our grade. I got advance on my mcas, have ap classes, and think that the teachers in the school is good. Please don't listen to rumors and look at the appearance that would only make you shallow.
You have to update your page. Because, We all know that malden High isnt 77% White, Its African American. Im not racist but i know that my daughter and son are the minority in school. Thank you!
