We met with several schools and knew right away that HOMS was our first choice. First impressions are everything, and each school we looked at after that simply didn't compare. We were so impressed with the learning environment and knowing our son would be in good hands. It is clear the teachers and staff at HOMS have a passion for working with children and love what they do. We also hope the school will introduce computers and will keep our fingers crossed for the development of a new school in the near future. We highly recommend HOMS!

My son is a second year student at HOMS. We started him last year right at 2.9 years old and the teachers were instrumental in showing him how to socialize and work together with other children. However this year, (at 4 years old) he has grown and learned so much. He is now counting to 100 (with very little help), doing simple math (2+2=4, etc..) and spelling his name. The biggest advantage of Montessori is the individualized learning. Children chose their own work and advance at their own pace. They also have little extra s at HOMS like French class and yoga. My only hope is that they become a little more technical savvy and start introducing computers to children right from the get go. We intended to transfer my son to public school in 2 more years but given the progress he is making at HOMS it would be a disservice to him for us to do so. With that being said, we are looking forward to a new bigger school soon so that my son can continue his academics at HOMS as long as possible. We commute 60 miles a day roundtrip to bring our son to school- that s how much we LOVE Hands-On Montessori. I highly recommend Hands-On Montessori!

Our oldest daughter started at Hands-On four years ago. We thought of transferring her to public school in Easton after three years but she was learning so much, not only in terms of academics but in the area of life skills as well, and in such a positive, nurturing environment, that we decided to keep her there for another few years. Our youngest daughter also attends Hands-On and she is practically begging us to take her to school early each day! The program is so creative and supportive and has instilled so much confidence in both of our children that we really couldn't speak any more highly of this school.

Our son enjoys going to school because of the wonderful learning environment that is fostered at Hands-On Montessori. The school nutures a child's intellect, social and emotional development. Our son has been there 3 years and we are so fortunate to been part of this school community. I have volunteered in the classroom and have seen the children in their learning environment doing their work and enjoying their school work. Montessori education is amazing and worth the investment in your child's future. You will be amazed at what your child learns and the questions they ask. The teachers at the school take a vested interest in each child and are happy when parents want to be a part of the school community through volunteering. We are so happy with our choice that our younger son will start pre-school there in September so he can also benefit from this wonderful learning experience.

I love this school and so does my child. He started going there at 3 and he's learned so much. It's the best Montessori school in this area. From the teachers, children, parents to the administrators and the facility, I highly recommend it!

Cannot say enough good things about Hands- On Montessori School. Our son is in his 3rd year and has benefited tons by being in this program. Being part of the Hands-On comunity has been a super experience and a pleasure for our family. When we pre-viewed schools Hands-On was the way out in front 1st choice. If you are looking for a nurturing environment, one that will inspire confidence and independence and give you an eager to learn child at the end of the day, this is a great place.

My children have been going to HOMS for several years and they absolutely love it. I'm not just saying that, they tell me! The teachers are excellent and very caring about each individual student. The classrooms are very structured and orderly (the Montessori way). The curriculum is challenging and engaging for the kids so they have fun learning which is important compared to rote memorization. Teachers suggest other work areas to the children so they continue to become challenged. Parent involvement of 20 hours is expected. It's easy to get involved to help the school. Administratively the staff and teachers have always been very responsive to phone calls and emails. Extracurricular activities are offered at additional fee. There is a nice playground, and while a small facility at the moment, they are looking to expand at a new location so they can offer higher grades. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
