My son will be graduating from Northbrook this June. We will all miss it very much. The teachers and the supportive learning environment have caused my son to thrive. They don't teach to any test, they teach their students how to think - and let them learn at their own pace. My son is several years ahead of grade level and has had no trouble passing tests and applying to high schools. The social environment is warm and welcoming. With such a small school the students are close and supportive of one and other, regardless of which class/grade they are in. Students are encouraged to try anything - in sports their basketball team is undefeated, and yet it made up of kids that probably wouldn't have gotten a chance to play elsewhere. I highly recommend it.

As a parent of a 6th grader, I couldn't be more satisfied with our decision to enroll our daughter at Northbrook Academy. The passion of the teachers/staff, extensive curriculum and teaching style has allowed our daughter to excel in her areas of strength while meeting her needs in those areas shes finds more challenging. The small class sizes allow the teachers to personnally know each student and their learning style so lesson plans can be adjusted accordingly to meet the individual needs of each student. Parental input is encouraged and welcomed. Middle school years can be difficult socially with an emphasis on "what group do I belong to?" Northbrooks' small, diverse student body fosters healthy friendships and relationships between students who might otherwise never be encouraged to intereact with one another at a larger school because of their differences. I am thrilled my daughter is learning the benefit of "stepping out of the box" and embracing all there is to learn at Northbrook Academy.

My son is in the eighth grade at Northbrook Academy. From the start he began to improve in his school work do to lower class sizes, concentrated study and teachers that truly give a damn about the students they teach and the results they obtain from their lessons. The public schools concentrate to much on the MCAS programs. In effect the students are taught how to pass the state test not necessarily how to learn what they truly need. Northbrook concentrates on teaching the students course knowledge that will help them learn through high school and beyond. One of the courses at Northbrook is how to get the most out of study time. At Northbrook they have a motto that states 'Body, Mind and Spirit!' Trust me they truly truly mean every word of it! The tuitution I paid for my son to attend this school was worth every dime!
