The Howe-Manning School was the poor sister of the Tri-Town School Union ( Boxford,Topsfield and Middleton). When I (Michelle Fitzpatrick began my Principalship the scores were very low, no consistent curriculum existed and everyone at Masconomet laughed at our incoming 7th grades. Things changed scores went up as staff embraced the new curriculum and children surprised themselves at how well they could do! The Principal got to be the Massachusetts Elementary Principal but it was the STAFF that made it possible. I left in 2010 and in 2012 Betsy Boulanger led the staff to get the best scores and the only school in the Tri-Town to be a Level One School. Most staff are still there and deserve high praise for turning a school system around!! I think this #1 staff deserves to win $5000. Michelle M. Fitzpatrick
