We have been thrilled with Eliot Montessori. Two of our children attended last year, with their younger sister joining them in a few days. The teachers have been so responsive to our childrens' academic needs, and have allowed them to thrive. The specials are of universally high quality - we have been especially impressed with the gym and music teachers, who are able to include all the children. We moved to this area specifically to attend Eliot, and we have NOT been disappointed.

Only been here 1 year yet but cant say enough good things. Classroom teachers are outstanding both in dedication and ability. Special class teachers (language, art, etc) seem personally involved with each student. Administration and parent community is approachable and even responsive to suggestions, while (appropriately I think)encouraging parents with suggestions to carry the ball further. Tuition is too high (of course), but comparable with other private shools in the area.

We have had a generally positive experience at Eliot, where our son has attended Kindergarten and first grade. The teachers are quite dedicated, and work hard to create a challenging and rich environment for the kids. There has been some turnover, but quality has been maintained. Class size is variable, but can be less-than-desireable. Tuition is steep, and many of the children are from quite affluent families. In general, the other children are intelligent and well-behaved, which is a plus. The principal is good natured and gets personally involved in each child's development, so there is a feeling of personal attention. There are limited extracurricular activities (mostly after school sports) sponsored by the school. Parent involvement is active. Overall, Eliot provides a comfortable Montessori learning environment.

My daughter has been at Eliot for three years. It has been a great match for her. Her teacher has been amazing at nurturing her strengths and helping her to overcome some weaknesses. She is doing advanced math. Her reading is far above grade level. Her writing is at grade level. The school is a very warm place and classrooms teachers are super at what they do. The new Head of School brought many good changes and some new energy to the school last year. It has continued and there is a lot of effort to communicate with parents.

My son has been at The Eliot Montessori for 6 years, and it has been an incredible educational journey. Each student learns and progresses at his/her own pace. He is very advanced in Math and is already in the middle of an algebra text book in 5th grade. Yet, he can do more age appropirate work in other subjects. Most importantly, he is always with his peer group and friends. Eliot's teachers are outstanding. They tune into the gifts and weakness of each individual child and manage to work magic with them. In 2nd grade my son had a keen interest in Electronics. His teacher took that interest and worked with him to develop a special presentation that he made to the whole class. The other children were facinated. My son was an 'electronics super star,' and his self esteem, social skills and presentation skills were given a huge boost. He still talks about it 3 years later.
