I am a Junior at Voc Tech, and I'm in the shop Early childhood EDucation and Teaching. The program benifits highschool students, pre-k and preschool students, and the parents. It benifits the parents because, in my opinion, i think its great knowing your child is in safe hands. everyone in my shop cares SOOO much for the children. They are our top priority.
My child attended the preschool program. Teacher Debbie Brightman and her high school students have created one of the best preschool programs in the state. The preschool students are constantly engaged and have plenty of 1 one 1 attention. Lessons are developmentally appropriate and fun for the kids. Most importantly, you can tell that the preschool staff genuinely cares for the students. At GNB Voc Tech there is no reason for some preschoolers to need an IEP because the staff is willing to do whatever it takes for ALL the students.
I think Voke Tech is a great School. My daughter is a Junior this year, and I have found her past 2 years at Voke, to be safe, and the teachings have been great! I have met with most of her teachers and found them to be approachable, pleasant and concerned for the well-being of my daughter. Anytime I have contacted them whether thru email, or phone, they have always responded. Thank you to all the staff , especially when you go to the main entrance, they are always polite, and helpful...
I am a student at Voc-Tech, a junior in MEdical Assisting. My past two years at Voc have been extremely wonderful. The security system is one of the best around, administration is nothing but friendly and helpful, and the teachers/staff are always there to help and make the most out of your time there. Although we're not #1 in sports, every student has a wonderful and fun time and that is what matters. Voc-tech is a very well rounded school and i think any of my peers would agree that the surrounding schools cannot compare
The school is the best between the staff and the students. The career opputunities are qwesome
I am a junior in the medical assistant shop and i will graduate in june of 2009. I could not see my self enjoying any typical high school like i enjoy voc-tech, the administration is awesome, along with the teachers and staff, and my peers are wonderful, like any school we do have the typical fights and trouble but it is nothing like the other schools around. Voc-tech is a wonderful atmosphere, and if you have goals to go a good college, dont think you cant go to voc, Everyone things voc is for kids who are not smart and just want to get the trade aspect of there life, however that is not the case anymore. I absolutely love it and i have met some amazing people and i would never change it for anything i plan on going to college to become a vet-tech, -Voc-tech student 11-1 MA
I just graduated in 2005 and I am now attending the University of New Haven for forensic science. I could not have asked for better teachers or a better support system. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that you can't go to college after attending a vocational school.
My son is a freshman at New Bedford Voke this year, and so far we love it. The vocational-technical high school experience isn't for every student, but for those students who are more hands-on than 'book-smart,' this is definitely the place to be. New Bedford Voke provides the usual variety of traditional academic subjects--math, science, English, history, social studies--plus the opportunity to try out 10 different trades/vocations in the first half of the freshman year and specialize in one of them for the remaining 3 and a half years. The Voke-tech experience isn't for everyone, but it's definitely for those students who would rather rebuild an engine or build a house or take care of children rather than read a Shakespearean sonnet.
I graduated from Voc in 1985. I am soon to be a parent and would love for my child to attend this school in the near future. I feel I had the best education at that time and wouldn't change a thing. Students and staff were very well represented.
