EDCO Collaborative is a fantastic program! The kids are educated in a mainstreamed environment and are able to get the best of both worlds. They are able to be educated with their Deaf peers. The program is affiliated with Newton public schools, which is one of the best school districts in the state. The Deaf students have access to all of the classes offered to the hearing students. They also have over 100 clubs and sports they can be involved in. The students love their years at EDCO and the great education they receive.

EDCO Collaborative is located within Newton North High School and the middle school program is located within FA Day Middle School. Not only are the teachers within the program top notch, but the school system of Newton is one of the best in the state. The students can be self-contained in a Deaf classroom, mainstreamed with their hearing peers or have a combination of both. They have access to both worlds and are challenged on a daily basis. The students can participate in activities sponsered by the EDCO program as well as all activities sponsered by the Newton public schools. EDCO Collaborative is one of the best programs that I have seen.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
