I have had three children attend Lincoln Street School. I have one child there now. The last two years have been challenging. Beth Ludwig, principal, has done an outstanding job turning around very difficult situations. With the help of her wonderful staff, they have been very dedicated to resolve each challeng doing whatever it takes. The students are the number one priority at all times!! This school truly has caring staff all across the board. We are very fortunate to have our children attend this wonderful school and have Beth Ludwig as the Principal.
Both of my children currently attend Lincoln Street School and I have had excellent experiences all around. My oldest is in 4th grade now and youngest in 2nd grade. Both of my children are on individual education plans so I have lots of involvement with the entire staff, and I have found the school caters to our every need! The communication has been well above par even to the point where if I raise a concern to a teacher, they will continue to follow up with me to make sure it is resolved to my satisfaction. I feel that the new principal brings a fresh perspective and initiative to find out what is working well and improve what is not. She has been outstanding in both academic and administrative issues. I have even brought in outside experts with years of experience in various school districts across the state for classroom observation etc., and their comments to me have been that we are lucky to have such a knowledgeable, progressive and caring team of professionals at LSS! I am proud to be a part LSS and even more important...my kids love it too! Thank you Lincoln Street School for going above and beyond the average school to help every student shine! I am so grateful!
I have had children gong to this school for the past 9 years and it has been a wonderful experience for them and our whole family. Times change, budgets go up and down, but my children continue to have super-star teachers again and again. The experience, commitment and qualtiy of the teaching staff is impressive. My children enjoy vibrant classes where learning is joyful and expectations are high. The teachers really know my kids and develop caring and repectful relationships with them. I am grateful that my kids have such a great school
I have to strongly disagree with the sentiments stated below. This is my son's third year at Lincoln Street (he's a second grader) and we cannot be happier. Questions I have had (either addressed to the classroom teacher or principal) have been answered in a timely manner. This school really has a great sense of community from the minute you walk through the doors. My step-daughter went through LSS (she is now an 8th grader at MMS) and I can tell you that the school is run better now than ever before and I am thankful that there is finally structure and consistent routines in place. There is a great emphasis placed on academics and performance, but children also learn social skills that are needed in the real world. I have found the teachers very caring, the principal knows how to lead the school, and the PTO consists of very dedicated parents. We are big fans of the PTO sponsored events, including Fun Day! I truly believe that all of these people put the children first, and my son feels like this is a home away from home. So, take the reviews below with a grain of salt; we are happy to call Lincoln Street our school.
This is my youngest child's first year and I must be honest I am not pleased with the new administration . There is no leadership from the new principal. She has no experience and can not run a school. Unfortunately, these changes have been made in the last few years and have rapidly deteriorated the school and its performance. Communication with parents is very poor. The guidance counselor has her own needs above those of the students. The policies and procedures have become bullysome at best. If I could I would take my younger daughter out.
The school allows bullying and the administration does nothing to stop it. Communication is poor at best.
