My child is performing above grade level. I requested a meeting with the school administration to partner with them to assign my daughter extra work in an effort to challenge her. Although they seemed receptive, nothing came about from it.

If your child comes from a stable middle to upper middle class family and has average to above average intelligence you will probably be happy. If your child functions 'outside the box'; is in need of some extra attention as determined by a learning disability, an unfortunate family or economic situation, or extra high intelligence- you and your child may find this school stressful(Think 'one-size-fits-all'). This is even more likely for parents who want to be true partners with the school. The current principal seems to respect and place a value on parental ideas and concerns regarding their child, however, this is a new concept; change is coming- but slowly. The failure of Rehoboth to support the school financially is having a devastating impact on the overall quality of education. Many teaching methods and curriculum are outdated. Bottom line? Know your needs and check MCAS scores!

Generally I think the school is very good. Unfortunately the town is no longer supporting the school with the funding it needs.

This is a very good school. The music teacher is simply awesome, and parent involvement is really encouraged and is a very strong component here. Mr. Anderson will be sorely missed, as he was a real asset here.

Our family is new to the school and we are very happy thus far. Our daughter has fabulous 3rd grade teachers Mrs. Macdonald and Mrs. Dubuque. They recognize our child's educational needs and challenge her accordingly. I'm always amazed at how dedicated and committed these teachers are with all of our school budget challenges. Mr. Anderson is great and is very hands on. I always see him directly involved with the students. One other area that impresses me most is the PTSA. In Rehoboth it is all about ALL of the kids. (Very refreshing for us since we are of a private school experience which is much different) Michelle Tremont was so impressive with her passionate dedication to our school. Thank you, Palmer River.

I think the teachers in the school are great and my favorite is Mrs.Jansen. She had fun writing projects and i was never bored in her class. The great books activity really gets us to read alot more, and parents were nice enough to come in and help.

As a mother of 2, I have found their experiences at Palmer River to be joyful. They enjoy school and their teachers. They are pushed to academic excellence and are given an atmosphere favorable for learning. As with all schools, their are a select few kids who continuously need extra disciplining and ruin the day for those children who work hard and are good kids. Schools are not parents and should not be put in the disciplinarian role -- it is the parents role. The teachers try their best. I have even received calls from teachers at home when my children have been sick. How many people can say their children's teachers take the time to care. The kids love Mr. Anderson (principal) and overall I am happy with the school.

The comments made in May of 2004 are a reflection of the now retired principal. The new principal is wonderful. Mr. Anderson treats children, parents, and teachers with respect and this respect has spread throughout the school building. Palmer River is a great school!

As a parent of 2 I feel that the teachers yell and scream at these children and take away too much of their little time of play. Lunch time is horrible. Stupid whistles are used to quiet down the students. They are not dogs! They can't talk in class so let them talk during their break. Teachers have a break room, are they in there quiet all the time? No! I've heard comotion in there too.
