We moved here a few months ago (from another state) and as a parent, I can not be more pleased with the school. My kids are in 7th and 8th grade and they have adjusted very quickly. All of the teachers seem to really love teaching. The school offers many after school sports and clubs for the kids to participate in. I m glad we moved to Rutland.

Dear June 13, 2008- Power school is meant to keep parents informed of their child's work and progress. When you saw that work was incomplete then that's when you should have 'fixed' things. It sounds like you want to blame your son's teachers when it is your son who is to blame. By middle school a student should be able to remember to hand in the work when it is due. You're lucky your son got any credit at all if he forgot to hand it in on time. They have over 120 students and put the grades on power school for you to see.

The people are very nice. I wish they would contact the parents when the child isnt handing in work and their grades are dropping. I watch my child do his homework every night but when i check power school all his homework say inc. When questioned all i get is 'sorry mom,i forgot to hand it in' by then it to late. If i had been contacted we could have fixed it.

My son was a student at Central Tree for four years. He loved going to school everyday and always had something new and interesting to tell me he had learned in class. However, the school doesn't do anything special or fun. In eigth grade, my son went on a total of two field trips, both to Boston. I think the principal could put forth a little more effort to make Central Tree a fun place for all.

If you are the parent of a special needs student with social/emotional issues, you may run into problems dealing with the administrators. They are not equipped to deal with these 'special' kids.
