The staff is dedicated to making learning a positive experience for all of its students. They use a creative approach to developing essential cognitive & social skills that recognizes the various ways that individual students learn & succeed because there is no one size that fits all.

My son attended Floral for all elementary grades in the 90's. My daughter is now in second grade. This is really a great local elementary public school. Although the school is crowded like other schools, Shrewsbury has a great reputation for public schools. There are very caring teachers and great administration. My daughter is very happy with the teachers, programs and overall we have been very pleased with Floral.

My daughert was a student here for two years and had a wonderful experience. The teachers were very challenging and supportive in her classes. This is the same throughout the district.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Massachusetts used the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 10 in English language arts and math and in grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The grade 10 MCAS is a high school graduation requirement. The MCAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Massachusetts. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
