Our daughter is in her first year at Pingree and loves everything about it! Creative and demanding academics taught by credentialed teachers who really connect with the kids. A wide variety of traditional and non-traditional sports teams and activities. Freshman art rotation creates a safe environment for trying new things without fear of failure. A headmaster who embraces the latest research on learning and the adolescent mind. Strong commitment to a diverse student body. Nurturing culture that offers a niche for every student. We are so pleased we chose Pingree.

Overall academic level of school is mediocre at best with a very few exceptions. Definitely not worth the money and the small size in fact likely diminishes as opposed to enhancing student achievement. Observations based on real life comparison of our children attending different private schools, supported by parents of many classmates over their last 2 years. Don't let your child convince you otherwise as we unfortunately did.

two children attened, great sense of community and encourge students to take risk. Excellent sports and arts. Lacking in number of AP classes offered . Facilities are nice and well maintained. However, not in the same class as other privates in the $30+K range.

Fantastic school. As a current student, you can trust me when i say that nothing about the school is anything but outstanding: facilities, arts, sports, curriculum, and a student body that is accepting, bright and encompasses a variety of interests. But the one thing that truly sets the school above so many others is the faculty. Every teacher, while not only phenomenal at what they do, truly loves every student. Every individual is nurtured and appreciated. The faculty are eager to forge personal relationships with students (I, of all people, would know). The school continues to grow stronger in every regard each year. The adminstration is very progressive and excellent at identifying ways the institution can continue to improve. Remarkable school; surely worth a closer look.

Great School! Whoever says different is very wrong. I have 6 children, and all six of them went here. Five of them went to ivy-league schools after this: 2 to harvard, 1 to brown university, one to princeton, and one to yale. My other child went to william and mary, which is not ivy-league, but pretty good! This school is worth every penny, with great academic demand. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Whoever says that Pingree is not a great school is nuts. They've never stepped foot in the school or seen their athletics and arts programs. It's top-notch in every aspect! Look at the alumni who have attended, talk to the students there and they will all agree.

An absolutely fabulous school, getting better every year. Academic powerhouse, bright kids, great sports. Kids responsible for their own learning and building relationships with teachers. Kids are happy here and do really well in college placement!!

This school is truely amazing. The teachers care like no other. After graduating from this school and entered/entering the real world I felt as though I was over prepared. The very best gift you could possibly give your child.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
