Beautiful school. Wonderful principal. Very supportive environment. My older son went here from Grade 2-5 and now my little one is in Kindergarten.
great school, quiet location away from city pollutants, very safe... they have a very strict 'no bullying' rule so all the kids learn to respect each other. Building is new, clean and organized.
Our two children have been at Northeast School for six years now, and we are extremely pleased with their experience. The teachers have been excellent for the most part, and the principal and her team work to make this school the best in the district. Several families we have met during our time at Northeast sent their children here despite living closer to a different elementary school. There is good support for both advanced and special needs kids, as well as a strong program for English learners. They work hard to integrate children who are still learning English into the regular rhythm of school, both socially and educationally, which I appreciate. One of my daughter's best friends in school was a girl whom she was originally partnered with to help the girl practice her English. Overall, Northeast creates a safe, welcoming environment for a child's entry into learning.
My daughter is only in Kindergarten, but she loves it, and loves her teacher. She has music, art, gym, drama and library/media center time every week. The school also offers great extracurricular programs for families, sponsored by the school or the PTO. She is happy and safe there, and looking forward to first grade. Though the MCAS scores and AYP are less than stellar, the school is poised to address the problems. Notices come home in English and Spanish, there are many opportunities for parents to volunteer, and the community spirit of the school is wonderful.
Very nice school. Brand new building. Great computar lab and Jim. New library. Built in Y after school program and good parent-teacher interaction.
