Both of my children attend Duval Elementary. I cannot say enough about the dedication of the teachers and the staff. Parent involvement is also extremely impressive. As a real estate agent, I see many houses in surrounding communities; I wouldn't choose for my children to attend another school or to live anyplace else. The education my two boys receive is top notch. They are well-supported when needed, pushed to achieve, and are - most importantly - happy with the environment in which they learn.
The Duval school is great. We love all of the teachers and staff. They are very informative and quick to get information out to parents. I have two children at Duval and I feel that they are being taught by some great teachers. Our daughter went to a different school before Duval and we can see a huge difference since we changed schools. They take the time to help the kids learn and they focus on a weakness and make it a strength. Again, we are thrilled that our kids are learning at such a great school like Duval Elementary.
From the day my daughter entered Duval as a Kindergartener, she has felt welcome, loved, and accepted! From the administrators, to the teachers, to the support staff, I know they are all there because they want to make a difference in children's lives. My daughter is challenged academically and has thrived socially. A great school!!
I am a product of the Lexington schools and my older children from my first marriage attended schools in Needham and Newton, graduating from Newton North. I rate the Duval Elementary school on a par with the schools in those towns. The involvement and enthusiasm of the teachers here is unsurpassed. The parental and community involvement, probably due to our small town environment, is, in my opinion, even greater than in the other communities that I mentioned.
