Save your child from this school. They are clue-less! No emphasis on quality curriculum and teaching at all. No following benchmarks or student evaluations to look for improvement. Very little information to parents about how student is doing...only very very general information that is unclear. They do not measure or follow student progress closely enough to know. Many teachers not certified and incompetent.
This school is one of the best schools in Worcester, it may even be the best one. The teachers at this school try to make learning fun by relating to the students. At this school the environment is different everybody knows each other. If you are new and you don't know much people you will soon with this schools welcoming environment.
Principal is a wonderful person. But, much more attention to raising the the quality of teaching, improving classroom interactions/ environment so they are more positive, and strengthening the curriculum is greatly needed. Better assessments of where each student is in his or her learning is also needed to guide teaching, especially in the younger grades.
You won't find a better school in which to send your child in all of Worcester County. Dedicated, professional and nurturing are just a few of the terms that come to mind when describing the staff and administration. A sound education, coupled with a loving Christian foundation, are the cornerstones of this school. Well-rounded, community-minded students graduate from St. Peter's year after year.
The Principal is the just the best. She helps in every way she can. She knows each of the students by name and knows everything about them. She looks at every students quizzes, tests, and report cards. She is truly the best principle.
Having sent three children through St. Peter Central Catholic we can attest that it is a unique, diverse, and nurturing environment. The values instilled are exceptional, the staff unbelievably dedicated, and the leadership outstanding. The alumni's academic successes are impressive, but most striking is their fondness for and loyalty to the school even years after graduation.
My children graduated in 2003 and 2005. The oldest just competed 1st yr of college and the youngest will be a senior. They still talk about SPCC. They loved it when they were there and their teachers knew what their individual needs were. I always felt that my children were safe and loved by all of their teachers. It's wonderful to see the teachers hugging their students when most teachers can't because of today's society. All the teachers and the headmaster are very dedicated individuals and I highly recommend this school. If I had more kids I would continue to send them to SPCC.
I have been involved with St. Peter Central Catholic for almost 20 years as a parent, teacher and consultant. My work has taken me to schools throughout the country and SPCC stands among the finest. It is a unique institution in its attention to individual needs and gifts, its expectation of mutual respect and honor between students and teachers and its warm, comfortable educational climate. It's Worcester's best kept secret!
Been a SPCC parent since 1999 and never had a complaint. Would recommend to anyone.
I am an alumni of SPCC- CLASS OF 2005. I have to say it is a wonderful school. I attended from kindergarten to 8th grade. Going to this school helped me in so many ways. The saddest thing for me was having to graduate.
