About me

Welcome to the GreatSchools community! Tell us about yourself to start building your profile.

I just got off the phone with my oldest son, who will be 26 in August. Whenever I think about my pregnancies or my babies, I think of him first--even though it was so many years ago. Stories about him are flooding my memory. I can't come up with just one right now. But I can still see him in my mind, a rambunctious toddler. My youngest is 12 and still very energetic. I have four more in between these two. Only two are still in K-12. Three are in college and one is grown with a wife and a family. For many years I was a teacher--middle school and high school social studies in a small private school. Six years ago I quit teaching and became a full-time novelist. My stories reflect my life as a mother. I have many pet peeves, but right now I'm feeling mellow. I'll have to come back and write those in later.

I think other subjects should be cut rather than cutting science, social studies, or PE. I used to teach social studies and my lessons included... More »

I used to teach and I could never imagine such a thing. As a teacher I certainly encouraged my students to use the restroom during free times, but... More »
