Mom of two boys (9 and 13). I seem to have taken more unconventional routes in life. (Favorite poem is "The Road Not Taken, by Robert Louis Stephenson). Waited til age 32 to marry; finished masters degree at age 40; had my 1st child at age 42...the 2nd one at 45). It is my greatest joy in life. I never knew how selfish I really was until I became a mother. To me, it's been a daily process of laying down my life; figuring out the puzzle of child-rearing, home-making (not my strongest skill), education choices; and so much more. It does take a village to raise children, and I am in awe of those who do it well, which is why I love the idea-sharing on websites like Great Schools and others.
