I really enjoy having the time to go swimming, bicycling, snow sledding with my daughter and her friends. I enjoy going to the beach and other activities with my daughter as well. When we lived in Salem, I really enjoyed the school spirit there as they had many programs. Thanksgiving at the school cafeteria where the parents bring potluck to school. I enjoyed the Fundraising programs and helping sell smencils (pencils with a smell to it). There seemed to be a connection with the school and the parents and open involvement. In the school that my daughter goes to now, it's harder to get involved and seems more closed to the parents. I'm hoping to help them to change that as I've given them some examples at her other school where we had "Coffee Hour" where the parents come and help the teachers with their projects and we talk about stuff happening at the school and such.
