Albion Senior High is as good as it gets. With it being in a small community, everyone is like family. Ethnicity doesn't matter, we're one big melting pot! Not to mention the top notch education.

I loved the diverse community and how it was small enough everyone pretty much knew each other.

We have enjoyed and appreciated the education that our daughters have received from APS. We have very good, dedicated teachers and administration that deal with many issues and still the district is able to educate and provide many wonderful opportunities for all students.

I feel the overall school quality is below average not due to the teachers in the school but due to the high turnover rate of top ranking officials within the school. namely principals, asst. principals and superintendents. This has created a lack of developed relationship with the student body which in turn has created an atmosphere of neglect of the students. On top of all this, there seems to be less and less parent involvement especially in the area where it is needed most; with children who are causing problems.

Albion has a moderate diverse culture within it's student population. The educators are caring professionals which can raise even higher the academic proficiency of the students. There are challenges I have viewed to raise the level of committment to achieving a higher academic profiency. Albion has the areas best atheletes however the lack of school attendance at sporting events is a concern. Basketball should not be the town focus. Guiding some of the students to experience other sports will round out the teams as well as school pride.

I currently have four children in this school, one in each grade. I wish the quality of academics was higher, and also, I wish the in-class discipline was stricter and there was less tolerance for profanity. However, I like that there are other options for talented/gifted kids, such as the tech center, dual enrollment with area colleges, and the math/science center. We are very pleased with the level of sports and extra-curricular activities available. Teachers are very open to constructive relationships with parents. There is a core group of parents involved in helping students succeed, but it would be nice if parents of habitually misbehaving students would be more active in demanding higher behavior standards of their children. Also, we hope the school will be increasingly aggressive to address drug use issues.

I am a 2004 graguate of AHS. I think AHS prepares its students for the real world, being such the diverse school it is. I think the ciriculum could be more difficult, because Albions standards are REALLY low. The teacher quality is excellent, the rules are pretty strict. Theres many extracurricular activities including many sports not offered at other class C schools. Overall I would recomend AHS for anyone wanting a school to prepare you for real life and times.
