Worst school E V E R !!!! Victims of bullying are expected to "mentor and redirect" while being physically assaulted. The only way to get justice is to file police reports and press charges - which I do NOT have time or energy for. One of the kids in my son's class sat around and ate his hand without even a pencil in front of him. NO homework. My son was bored out of his mind while fending off delinquents in class and the hallways. A lot of the students have electronic translators because they can't speak English well enough to even participate in class! Don't send your child here unless you can have them walk around with a guard dog.
Clague has excellent and enthusiastic staff who care about the success of my children. It's a great school community.
Clague teaching, policies, practices, and wonderful diversity have been superb in helping my 7th grader excel. Having considered a private school and chosen Clague instead, we've been happy about how Clague has supported him and some peers in moving quickly along in math classes, much higher than grade-level, Also, music department support for Solo and Ensemble preparation has been amazing. And, other specific teachers have been the best I've witnessed. I can't imagine that between Clague educational support and home, there would not be much difference from very expensive private school options. Great job, Clague!
I love Clague for the students, who are smart, diverse and dedicated; for the staff, who are also smart, diverse and dedicated; and for the parents, who do a great job of maintaining a strong sense of community at Clague!
Their special education teachers are tremendous and do so much with the peer mentoring programs!
The staff is very dedicated to it's students and the school is a warm and welcoming place. Kids and teachers are very supportive of each other and there is a high standard put in place. I am a special education teacher and this year I have had the general education population welcome my kids and make them feel safe and like they are apart of the community. This has never happened before! There are some absolutely amazing students at Clague Middle School!
Clague is an amazing school with a very dedicated staff. With all the proposed funding cuts, they could really use the help to keep vital programs going.
Teachers that are experts in their subjects, diverse student body that enhances the educational experience tremendously. Many countries from all over the world are represented at Clague!
Diversity, great staff, competitive curriculum, excellent opportunities for our children
I love Clague. It's friendly and the extracurriculars are amazing. It's a great school!
I really love the staff. They are very welcoming. Test scores are the best!
My family appreciates Clague Middle School's administration, teachers and staff because they make it a priority to create a healthy and nurturing environment for all students. THEY ARE THE BEST!
Clague is the most supportive environment, for teachers and students, in Ann Arbor.
Clague is the best middle school in Ann Arbor - a wonderful, safe and educationally challenging place ! We love it!
Clague middle school is a crucible of diverse, unique, and talented students and teachers whose standards and achievement are among the best!
Many sports, music and environmental activities for my granddaughter
Many of the kids and parents are achievement oriented. There are some really great teachers. The Academic Games team is excellent.
Academically, it s a hit or miss with teachers, but overall, they lack manners. Fortunately, my daughter is a good student. Thus, we have only come to the school on a few occasions. The principal is a very nice but it is clear that he avoids any confrontation; which gives teachers more power than they know how to manage. Perhaps they should have a professional development day on, treat others the way you would like to be treated .
I have had one daughter graduate from Clague and one is now a 6th grader there. We home schooled them until 6th grade. The transition has been very good. The teachers are, for the most part, very nurturing and caring. They have helped my daughters adjust to public school and prepare for high school. I also consider it to be a safe place for my children to learn. The teachers and administration work well together to create a disciplined, positive learning environment. The academic curriculum is challenging as well. I am looking forward to having my three younger children to attend Clague as well.
Three of our four children have attended Clague, with the fourth headed there in the autumn of 2007. All our children attended a wonderful private elementary school, and we chose our neighborhood public school of Clague for many reasons. First, the community cares so much about children. Over 300 parents volunteer at the school each year, with the principal and staff encouraging parents to be a part of many committees and teams. The PTSO has record donations each year, which funds classroom programs. In the 2006-07 school year, the parents funded $15,000 in classroom grants for teachers. The Clague staff produces engaging science projects, strong programs in language arts, math, and music. The school has flourished remarkably under the leadership of the principal and assistant principal. Parent communication is paramount to this administration. Also, our kids have done well in high school and entered college with several advanced placement credits.
