I love MacAlear. My daughter has been going to MacAlear since kindergarden. She is now in the third grade. I was never to happy about putting my daughter in a public school. I was unconforable with the size of kids attending the school. But it really doesn't feel that way. The class sizes are not over 22. I think best thing that MacAlear has going for them at that school is some of those teachers. After kindergarden we were going to transfer our daughter but when I met my daughters 1st grade teacher I knew that she would do a great job. And I was right. And every year after that the teacher have been just as great. I think the only thing that I would like to see change and I am sure that most of the other parents will agree. THE PARKING STINKS!
MacAlear is a mostly white school with a few black, hispanic, and oriental students. There is absolutly no difference and the students are all treated equally! This is a fun school and all three of my children have made honor roll with dedication and hardwork but also with because the teachers are dedicated and stay on top of things!
We have been very happy with this school. My children did not begin school here in kindergarten, but we transferred them here after hearing about what a great school it was. Both the gifted/talented classroom teachers and the regular classroom teachers my children have had seem extremely dedicated to their students and go above and beyond to make all of their students feel safe and important. The principal greets the students by name every morning in the hallway, creating a welcoming atmosphere for the children. The principal and staff also seem to enjoy working together for the students. The office staff are friendly and seem to truly care for the students. I am very grateful that we chose to switch our children to this school. It has made all the difference in their opinion of school and enjoyment of learning!
