I love CLA because my daughter is getting the best education in these parts. Her grades have excelled and so has her attitude since taking her out of the local jr. high school.

Creative Learning Academy is a great little school. We are in a rural setting and have small class sizes which really helps with differentiated instruction. Character Education is important to us. Students work and play well together. Staff is dedicated to providing a great education and environment for all students.

The best kept secret in Central Michigan. Fabulous staff, very small class sizes & very personal approach to learning.

Yes, like any other 'public' school CLA has its issues. The school is amazing based on your child's need. With Beaverton facing cuts, I want to insure my children will get full focus on everything they need. With new things happening and coming to the school, tell me why you wouldn't want to give it a chance. So many people want to claim our kids are behind. Mine is testing great! He's above average in areas and at level for some others, and in others he's a little below, but we're working together (parent teacher partnership) to bring this where it needs to be. They listen when I talk, they know at any given point where my kid is, and who is he. Chance it, check it out, and experience the best! With funding down, give ur child what the government can't> a great start in education !

This is my children's first year in CLA and so far I have been satisfied with their education. My youngest had difficulties when he first entered this school, but each semester he is improving. My oldest child had self-esteem issues in his previous school. After the first week at CLA his attitude completely changed. Both of my children are happy and content and have decided that this is the school they want to stay with through the eighth grade. We all wish that CLA was a K - 12 school. I also feel that my children have a better chance of positive social interactions in this school. Parents and teachers know the children more personally, and the children are less likely to fall prey to negative behaviors that are found in larger schools. Jackie Cross

Creative Learning Academy is a mediocre school and your children will get a far better education elsewhere.

I have five nephews and two nieces who go to Creative Learning Academy and they all enjoy this school.I think this school has a strong focus on the children and their needs. Teachers at Creative Learning Academy do a great job as do the people who volunteer their time. Drugs, weapons, violence and some of the other problems that plague bigger schools seem to be non-existent at C.L.A. And a big bonus of charter schools such as this is that the tuition is FREE. I would encourage anyone in the Beaverton area to enroll their children at Creative Learning Academy.

The school has an outstanding staff and has doubled in size in recent years due to positive word of mouth and active parent involvement. The staff actively strives for creative interactive learning based on inciting their natural drives. I would highly recommend it to others.

I was a student at Creative Learning academy for two years. The first year I had a really great teacher/principal. the next year they changed the 6-8 teacher and the principal. Alot of the students were pulled out of the charter school and did horrible in public schools because they were so far behind. I have alway been honor roll even in public schools grades 1-5 so i did fine in public schools, but my sister didn't. there is no in school lunch except pizza on friday that costs $1.00 and subway on wednesday. This is the point of view of a former student at creative learning academy.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
