Haggerty Elementary School

Excellent school. The principal is high energy and full of ideas to continually improve the school in any way she can. The teachers are excellent and help each student as if they were their own. One of my children excells but is still challenged by her individual teachers. My other child has experienced major medical challenges and the teachers and school staff have gone out of their way to accomodate her needs during times of illness and beyond. I wouldn't want my children to attend any other school. There is an awesome group of parents that participate and organize events at the school and they always encourage others to help out and get involved. There is something organized every month as a family event. I love Haggerty Elementary and would recommend it to anyone seeking an excellent school.

I am very appreciated that my son could be attended to Mrs. Binert class on K5 last whole year even though we are an asian family in the class. She taught in a very nice way to my son ....and indeed my little boy learned a lot from school. We truly thanks and support this school is Great and Teachers are remarkable !! Parents - Hui Family

I had a tough time deciding between public or private school for my son's future. I am glad he attended Haggerty for kindergarten this past year! By the end of the year the students had to write a story as well as do basic addition and subtraction. Mrs. Patton was an awesome teacher and responded swiftly to any inquiries. I also appreciated the multiple aides. Mrs. Pitt, the principal, has a great energy which is shared by the entire staff!

I really love my daughters teacher Mrs.Binert. I wish she could have her every year, and so does she. I like how involved they are with raising money for organizations. This is the best school for my child. Keep up the good work.

I can not say enough about the staff and Principal at Haggerty Elementary. My son just started attending Haggerty this year after starting his academic career at Keystone Academy. We left Keystone after 4 years because they refused to help my special needs son. I took my son w/all kinds of medical documentation; the same documentation I presented to Keystone and he qualified for special education at Haggerty without question. He is now receiving the special help he needs and is thriving. I am only sorry that I didn't check out the Van Buren schools sooner.

I love the teachers, staff and principal, they work hard for the kids and its all about the kids. Haggerty has the highest MEAP scores in the district this year.

This is an excellent school...tops in the district! The office staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They have a new principal, Mrs. Pitt, she is full of energy and has brought many new ideas to Haggerty. The teachers are hard working and caring. Haggerty has some of the highest MEAP scores in the district.

My daughter has attended Haggerty for almost two years. We relocated briefly, and during that interim I realized what a great school Haggerty is. They encourage parental involvement and thus have tons of activities throughout the year for the kids and families to get involved in. If you take advantage of the opportunity to go to these events, you will certainly find a place of greater involvement with the school and realize that they care a lot about making it a great environment for the kids.

I am very pleased with this school. I have two sons, one in 5th and one in 1st and am happy with both teachers. I think Mrs. Pitt is doing a wonderful job and Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Armstrong are always polite and helpful. I truly can't see someone not being happy with this school overall. I have two children who have attended Haggerty and I loved it. Mrs. Willoughby is the best. My sons really loved having her as there teacher.
