I am proud to say that my daugher attended and graduated from Anderson with honors. My child is African American, she nor I had any problems with the students or staff at Anderson with regards to race relations. I am a very hands on parent, so everyone knew me very well. I believe when you place your child in a environment where the majority of the student population is white, the student and parents must be prepared to adjust. Parents and students should have the personality and ability be able to live and go to school any where and be happy, but sometimes you must make sacrafices. If I must make a comment it would be on Black History Month. I recomment all teachers and classes particpate in having the children learn something about a black historian figure, a landmark and/or the history of slavery then and now. My daugher will be attending Berkley H.S. and I am look forward to her adjustment there. A.L.
I love this school, and about what some of the parents and students are saying about not having enough black kids, we have an equal amount of races. The teachers care about everyone very much, all races, all ages.
This school has a lot of prejudice teachers and staff. They don't reach out to black kids and offer extra help or encourage them. It's like they want to see them fail. Also they are horrible at coming to the aid of children who are being bullied unless they are white. The same rules no not apply to all children.
I am glad to state that my daughter attends Anderson, and it has been the best thing for her! The staff at Anderson is outstanding, and they have great leadership for their students. The extra cricular activities are great, and really help the students acheive their goals!
I am proud to say our son attends Anderson Middle School. I am also pleased to express that this school cares about there students and wants to see them achieve goals. This school believes highly no child will be left behind. Sending our son to Anderson was one if not the best moves as parents my husband and I could have ever made. The schools challenge the students and give them the tools they will need to succeed in the next grade level. The rule no child will be left behind is a rule the schools thrives on and excellent is there first name. The more schools we have with caring staff and involved parents the more we will produce great leaders of tomorrow Anderson student area the leaders of tomorrow, Anderson is the education foundation of today. Thank you and keep up the great work. l
