Crossroads Charter Academy is a public school with a lot of heart and pride. We offer small class sizes, a caring environment, and we make our students feel like they are part of the CCA family. It has been my pleasure to come alongside students, mentor them, challenge them, and watch them grow. This year I am able to look at CCA through both my teaching perspective and through my kindergartner's eyes. It has been a wonderful experience for me to see how my own child feels about her school and what the staff of CCA do for her. We offer a safe classroom environment where all learners are able to achieve success! So proud to teach at CCA! Come check us out!
Did you try going into the school and talking one on one with the principal? or go to the superintendent? I have been involved with this school since 2003 as a parent and following the chain has always ended in getting results. Bullying is NOT tolerated and I know this for a fact. If it were me as her mom I would be standing in front of his office the moment he came thru the door. Mom get active!!!
I wish I could give this school no stars. My child has attended here since kindergarten. Last year, the bullying began by one girl, towards the end of the year. This year, it has gotten worse and worse. The staff do nothing unless the child has affluent parents. My child is pushed, called names and they make fun of her disability. I've talked to staff numerous times and even called to speak to the principal a second time. He didn't bother calling me back. I don't know if she can handle waiting one more month for school to end. This place is awful. If you want your child to come home crying everyday and have to give them a pep talk in the morning just to go to school, send them to this dreadful facility. If this is what 4th grade is like here, I wonder what high school is like?
Crossroads is an excellent school. Their tagline is "Small classes, great staff", and that's exactly right. We started our kindergartener at CCA this year; she was already reading, and we were apprehensive that she wouldn't be challenged to grow. After looking into several area schools, it appeared that CCA offered the most rigorous curriculum--and we hoped the small class sizes might make it easier for the teachers to individualize the curriculum. That is exactly what happened. The teacher found creative ways to make sure our daughter received appropriate challenges. As a direct result, she is now reading at a fourth-grade level. We are very excited to continue to see our daughter blossom at Crossroads, and would encourage others--particularly others with high-achieving children--to send their students there was well.
CCA is the best school. I love the one on one with the students. There is no more then about 18-20 kids in a class. Thats better for the children to learn. Our Principal is the best. He knows every kid by name. Thats just awesome. Our title 1 staff is the most caring set of teachers and parents I've known. My child started out there in k. and is going to finish there in 12th grade. Right now my child is in 5th grade.
I sent my child to this school for a half year and promptly took them out. I thought that private schools were supposed to have better teachers and better test scores than public schools. In this city, thats not the case. The athletic programs are also disgraceful.
I have two children who attend Crossroads Charter Academy, and we couldn't be more pleased with school. The attention to our specific needs is fantastic, and the teachers and staff all take prode in the work they do and the relationships they build. The teachers and principals are more to us than just teaching staff... they have become more like friends who really care about the education of our children.
I have been a parent at this school for 7 years and am very impressed by the teachers and the academics taught here. The small class sizes and extra help given where needed make it far superior to the other public schools in the area.
