Blissfield Schools are not "great". Having dealt with other schools in Michigan as well as Ohio and Colorado, Blissfield Schools are the worst. Of the few parents I know who have special needs children, they have chosen to pull their children from Blissfield and move to other districts. It seems the school's main concern is ensuring all students are present on "count days" to ensure they receive funds from the state. My child, who had less than acceptable grades at the end of his 5th grade year, was put through to 6th grade although he lacked preparedness for this advance. I would not recommend this school to anyone.
Blissfield Middle School is a smaller school with caring administration, teachers, and community. The involvement of all these factors has produced caring and academically sound students who will be a real asset to the community in future years. This school does not back down from the challenge of doing the best for every student; including those who are mentally or physically impaired.
