I am attending Britton-Macon Area Schools, and I am a school of choice student from Tecumseh. This is my first year hear, and I am very happy of how this school is. The classes are smaller, and nobody really picks on anybody else because these are the only few people they will spend the rest of their schooling careers with. I would deffinetly recomend Britton-Macon, as a wonderful school, and maybe even the best school in Michigan

Very happy with school, but concerned about the consolidation with Deerfield. Seems like a descent plan on paper.

I think this small school has alot to offer. My son was a school of choice student and our home district was Tecumseh, he chose to go to Britton. He has lots of good memories, good friends, and one-on-one interactions with teachers and administration. Teachers know their students! The whole school knows the students. It is a great school and I am rating this very high. A school of choice parent

I attended Britton years ago, and based on my experience I have sent my children to this great school. It offers choices, safety, and student involvement. The small town atmosphere provides the teachers, parents, and other students to look out for one another. When a child has a problem, everyone has a problem, and seeks to find a resolution. It is a great school. ....... a parent and satisfied taxpayer

This school is awesome. The students are especially friendly, with regards to the class of 2008. I have always encountered very pleasant people.

My daughter attends Britton schools as a school of choice student. We chose the school for the smaller class sizes and the one on one attention that she will get because of this. It has a good curriculum with a wonderful literacy project. All of the staff at the school are very plesant and the teachers are open to your questions and concerns regarding your childs growth while in their class. Both my husband and I attended Britton Schools and wanted our children to have the same wonderful experience that we did.

Britton is a magnificent school, and it is getting even better! A new section is being added on also. Yes what the one person said was true, there has been times in the past where students have urinated in lockers. But, that doesn't make it a bad school. That could happen anywhere! As for the lockers not locking, that is purely the students fault. In the boys locker room they don't respect the schools property, and think it's funny to ruin things. The girls locker room is very nice, but the guys locker room isn't so good and that is because of how they treat it. As for it being dangerous, that is not true! Just because part of a building is older that does'nt mean it's in bad shape, it's in very good condition. All of the teachers are nice here, and there is so many wonderful people.

We have five kids in the Britton School system. We have found the teachers to be fair, open and challenging and the staff to be helpful and friendly. Our two older children are now in college and doing well academically. Extra-curricular activities(sports, band, etc.)were easy for our kids to get into and they were able to take dual-enrollment at local colleges that helped to fill their schedule. I like the small-town feel and the ability for us as parents to be involved with the kids. We are welcomed (and encouraged) to participate in their education. I really appreciate that.

Britton is an great school for academics. For electives it is lacking but electives won't help my child to learn and get into a good college. Their MEAP scores and graduation rate are higher than most scools and they recieve much more one on one. In the electives that they do offer they learn more on that subject than most schools can offer. Do I want my child to fight with 30 students for a scholarship or 550? Yes there is some drawback to a small school such as there is some of the 'good old boy' club going on where some of the teachers and such have went to school with the parents and such but I don't have to worry about drug dealers and drive by shootings. This schools postives are much more than the negitives so this is where I choose to have my kids graduate.

I think Britton-Macon is a great school. The students have more one on one with the teachers. Our principle really cares what is going on and even gets involved with extra activities. We have had 3 children graduate and the 4th will next year. They have all good things to say about Britton. Students that are school of choice come from bigger schools wanting smaller schools. Our teachers are some of the best. They just did an update in the last 5 years. Added more class rooms for elementary and fixed up the high school so it is not in bad shape. Britton keep up the good work.
