There is absolutely no structure in this school. The administration makes sure of this by playing favorites with students and letting some get away with anything and everything. Teachers have no support at all. Students fighting, swearing, and physically assaulting one another or the staff is an almost daily occurrence. Parents, if you care about your child at all, do not send them to this crazy unsafe school.

Handles bullying effectively: Strongly disagree

- a
The school has no effective policy for bullying and will only suspend students for physical violence.

Supports LD students: Strongly disagree

- a
Teachers try their best, but there is no support from administration. Teachers are told they must provide all small group instruction leveled to the student's needs, but then students of all different levels are grouped into the same classroom and the teachers are not offered any examples of what this is supposed to look like in a class that has students performing at grade level abilities that vary by years.

Effective school leaders: Strongly disagree

- a
Leadership refuses to step up and take ownership of the school's behavior issues. All blame is laid on the hands of the teachers and the kids are excused of any responsibility because "they just don't know any better." Leadership has been known to refuse to take action against physical violence from students because they don't want to 'ruin the student's life, they didn't really mean it.'

Develops character: Strongly disagree

- a
The school's administration shows students on a regular basis that they can get away with whatever they want if they are the 'favorites'.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

- a
The school has wonderful teachers that could be very effective if the administration would deal with the behavior issues of the students instead of just laying all the blame on the teachers.

Amount of homework: Neutral

- a
There really is no set homework policy, but teachers do their best amid the chaos to keep their lessons and assignments organized.

Handles bullying effectively: Strongly disagree

- a
Not at all! The bad kids get a daily clean slate and are even allowed to remain on sports teams. It seems that the worst bullies are rewarded for their behavior.

Supports LD students: Strongly disagree

- a
The teachers try, but the extreme behaviors of far too many students make this impossible (drug use, throwing desks, pushing over book shelves, running around the classroom, jumping off classroom furniture)!

Teacher effectiveness: Neutral

- a
The teachers try so hard, but the violent, dangerous, and disruptive behavior of students makes it impossible to teach. Teachers are expected to stop everything and call parents DURING class for behavior issues, so not much teaching get done. You can find K-8 teachers crying on a daily basis from frustration and the abuse they are forced to suffer. When teachers are told by deans that the kids "don't know any better" regarding horrendous behavior, that's a problem!!!
