We moved into our neighborhood because it was so close to Bentley. So far we've not been disappointed!
Bentley is a cookie cutter, unionized teacher, government school. They do not do much beyond the basic measureables. They do not coordinate anything within their school. Their extended day care and school do not even know each other exist. They are so cash strapped they will not install working pencil sharpeners. They do not give enough personal attention to students. Not enough feedback from teachers. They will not challenge your child, they are only interested in getting your child to baseline targets. If you ask around, you will find charter schools are definitely better in Canton.
We love Bentley. We have had great teachers for our kids, great communication from the teachers, and attentive responses to our needs from the principal. The office staff are kind and helpful. The families are very nice. It's a close and active school community.
Bentley has gone beyond my expectations as a parent over the past 4 years. I have noticed how well the teachers connect with the students on a teaching and personal level. The diversity of the school is wonderful, and the leadership of Mr. Meier is always postive and fair. way to go Bobcats!!
The teachers, the quality, the resourcess, the process ins very very good, the level of education in Bentley is awesome.
The most recent posts of the school are way off base! The school is a wonderful school. It's a close nit community, and for the most, they recognize you when you walk in the door. Almost all of the teachers communicate properly. You will always have those few that don't in any school. They do challenge the kids significantly and there are a lot activities and fundraisers just like every PCCS school. Count your blessings because there are a lot of other area schools that don't have this luxury! Seriously - college?? Let them be kids!
What a poor school! The unionized teachers do not do much at all to educate the children. The children will not be competitive for entrance into better colleges. Plenty of fundraisers but they do not even have working pencil sharpeners and make parents get supplies even with overpriced school taxes. Save your money and move to a better school district.
Bentley is an extremely overrated as is this school district. Principal is a good writer of bulletins but that is not enough to make for a good school. Teachers communicate the absolute minimum to parents about their children, only at 1 conference per year and report cards. Teachers teach randomly without any deliberate method. Most importantly, this school has a history of not challenging its students. We thought we had made a good choice, we now seriously regret it.
We have a son diagnosed with ADHD. The resources available at Bentley have been nothing but outstanding. Principal Meier has been a great advocate for our son.
For a school district that is rated very high in the state, I am very disappointed in the education my children receive at Bentley. The bar for student achievement is set very low which allows the children to not push themselves. Discipline is minimal and bullying runs rampant and is ignored by the teachers and principal. If I had another option my children would leave this school.
