I went to this school over 10 years ago and partly based my decision to become an elementary teacher on the experience I got and the teachers I had here. The teachers are just fantastic and it's just a really nice environment for students.

Don't count on the after/before school daycare. Not a place my child will ever go back again. Inept at dealing with typical child behavior, little patience and too many children.

We feel priviledged and proud to be a part of this school. My children are thriving in Miller's enviroment and their desire to learn proves it. This school has an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome. You want to get off the sidelines and participate with special events and on different school boards. Mr. B and and Miller elementary staff are doing a great job. I know that they are doing their part to ensure that my children have the best foundation for their educational sucess. Learning not only happens at school, but also at home. We as parents need to do our part.

Miller exceeds expectations and is an amazing place to be a part of. My children love school and have had great success. The teachers are caring and motivated and the atmosphere is very friendly and open. I would recommend this school to anyone who asked. I travel within several local districts and still believe Miller is the best around. Times are tough for schools, I think Mr. B does everything he can to support teachers, students and families to be successful. Who wants homework?!? Parents should be discipling thier children...not schools. Good Job Miller Staff....another great year of MEAP scores to prove it!!

The teachers and principal provide a great atmosphere for the kids to learn in. He is on a first name basis with all of the kids and most of the parents especially for those who choose to become involved. Parent are asked to participate on various projects/field trips through out the year and newcomers are always welcome. We are fairly new to this community and have made many wonderful new friends through school functions designed for family participation. Great academics just look at our test scores wonderful music program and our PTO makes sure our kids are exposed to art lots of extracurricular activities. A+++ to Norman Miller Elementary and their wonderful staff and great students!

I agree with the lack of discipline, maybe coming from a urban environment, discipline is viewed differently than 4th generation Miller alum. Outside of school most of my daughter's friends don't behave with the parents are present and not noticing a problem. My biggest concern is the lack of fine arts. The music program in the elementary I attended included three big performances a year, with instruments being introduced by third grade. This school doesn't even offer a choir for the upper grades. Also, the lack of an organized foreign language program is embarrassing in this day and age. My nephew is in first grade at a local charter school and already has a large vocabulary in both French and Spanish. The French lessons my daughter has participated in has been a waste of time, and only being offered to a select few, make no real impact on the overall school.

I'm not quite sure who claimed that the lack of discipline in this school was evident when walking the halls. Also, that parent involvement was lacking and new members not welcome. Just today, I was thinking how well behaved our children were, walking quitely in a single line. Also, we are blessed with several parents who volunteer their time, welcoming any one that would like to help. Our Principal is amazing, as is the rest of the staff. My oldest son has gone through Miller and my daughter currently attends Miller. I wouldn't have them at any other school. We have considered selling our home, but refuse to move out of this school district.
