North Creek has a wonderful positive feel to it. Miss Becky is amazing, she knew my kindergartner's name even before school started, a true gem. Very responsive teachers, great specials: art, PE, library, music; Good support systems (special ed, reading recovery), differentiation within the classrooms whenever possible to meet each child at their level. All this and located in a wonderful city/community that supports our public schools.

The school has a positive milieu for the students. The students learn alot academically. The teachers are judgmental of the parents and don't offer as much support as they could. They are great with your child though and that is what is really important. For as many years as the school as been open I believe that the parents meet more obstacles then they should.

The entire staff at this school is amazing! Especially, Ms. Becky in the office (not sure is she is still there). But, she is what made dealing with the office so awesome! She had a connection with everybody.

I have a daughter in the kindergarten at North Creek. She is having a wonderful experience. Her teacher is so organized and friendly. My daughter loves her. The parents are involved. The staff is helpful and kind. It's a great place to send a kid to school. Highly recommended. The kindergarten is going to all-day everyday starting Fall 2008. I wish they were keeping the every other day system as it gives the little kiddos a break. Might be too much.

I have two children in school at, one is in Kindergarten and one is in 2nd grade. This is the only school they both have been in. My Kindergartner is reading books daily, 4-5 word sentences, and my 2nd grader is reading chapter books. They both have math, computers, music, and art. Yes, they have 3 recesses, but it gives them time to move around and unwind from the school load. North Creek is a very personalized school, the administrative team takes time to get to know the kids individually and knows them by name. They treat everyone like family. Children here are advancing well and if needed the school has programs in place and uses them to help those who need a little extra help. The school/playground has been renovated, and is kept very clean by their dedicated and long time staff in all areas.

This is a wonderful school. The teachers nuture and care for their students. The kids adore the staff and principal, and he is always interacting with them. They have a strange schedule for k-garten, but it works out well and is great preparation for first grade, without being too stressful on the youngsters. Out of a class of 20, my daughters kindergarten class had 5 capable readers, and the rest were right behind. The playground is entirely brand new. The other reviewer must be basing comments on the school from years ago. The interior of the building is clean, fresh and colorful. Classrooms are up-to-date and well stocked. Students regularly attend library, art, music, gym and computer lab to name a few activities. Highly recommended!

North Creek elementary is a FUN school for kids. They have three recesses & long lunch periods. The standards for acheivement are low. Many second graders aren't reading or writing. Math in this school is low. Teachers and administrators are weak! Parent volunteers are wonderful. The school is old, the playground is old. The lack of drop off/pick up rules are a safety concern. Kindergarten is every other day and horribly inconsistent.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
